Jennifer Drevon joined the APPRECOTS team in 2024 as a Research Associate. Prior to her time with APPRECOTS, Jennifer comes with a decade of experience in higher education as she served as the Associate Director of Central Michigan University’s Sarah R. Opperman Leadership Institute, supported service learning and community development experiences in the Mary Ellen Brandell Volunteer Center, and led research projects and program development within the Division of Student Affairs. Her time in higher education led to extensive experience with program, workshop, and curriculum development, course instruction, assessment, and leadership development.
Her passion for service preceded her time in higher education, where she spent nearly decade working in the non-profit sector with mentoring organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters in Michigan and Texas. Throughout her time with BBBS, Jennifer had multiple roles including program development, assessment, fundraising, community event planning, and training, learning, and staff development.
Jennifer has a B.A. in Child Development with a minor in Entrepreneurship, a M.A. in Higher Education Administration, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. She’s passionate about the power of research to better advocate alongside communities, share stories, and gain understanding in how relationships and programs impact the lives of others. When she’s not having fun with numbers and stories, she loves reading, writing for fun, spending time with her partner and family, and joking with friends.
